NIL

N.I.L is the name on our sports club. The letters mean Norddal Idrettslag.

NIL organizes many different activities, mostly for children, but also some for the grown ups. At the end of the season the members celebrate with a big party.

One activity is that NIL put up posts in the mountains, so we can write our names in a book, and get points. In that way we will get good training.

The activities at these times are in co-operation with Eidsdal and Geiranger, for example the E.N.G - cup. That is in cross country skiing and track and field.

But we also have activities for ourselves, like downhill skiing and training for many ages on “Grendahuset”.

Downhill skiing is very popular in Norddal. We have a ski lift, a preparation-machine, and a nice skiing cottage with a kiosk. With the preparation-machine they make good loops in the hill and on the road to the Rellingsetra and Storvatnet. The Sport club also has a cottage on Rellingsetra, and there is also the opportunity to sleep over.

E.N.G - cup

In the ENG cup children and grown ups from both Eidsdal, Norddal and Geiranger participate and compete with each other. The things we do are track & field, skiing, and running outside. It is arranged 4 times during spring and summer, and 4 times during the winter. When it is winter, we go cross country skiing. In the summer it’s running and track and field. We are divided in ages. It varies in what valley the friendly competition is in. If you were there once, you will get a small price. And then the price grows for every time you join in. It is biggest if you have participated all the four times.

N.E.G

N.E.G is the name on our football team. The letters is for Norddal, Eidsdal, and Geiranger. These three villages have to play football together. If not, there would not be enough children for any team. But it is fun to play football with kids from the other valleys. We meet others than in our own school and get to know each other.

Some years ago it started with just Norddal and Eidsdal, and all grown up men could come to the trainings. Many showed up and they also started an own football team. Now it is more teams in different ages for children and divided in both boys and girls teams.
